Ah, even conceding to BTS regarding the substance of his Post 11558, the Tetragrammaton still appears to have been in the NT books originally, as http://www.equipministry.com/studies/yhwhinnt.htm shows. I still suggest that the Hebrew-type grammar, the quotes and citations from the OT, and other Jewish lexical influences all show their influence in whichever manuscript or translation of the NT we might consider.

PSacramento, Matthew 4:4,7,10 is where Jesus is speaking with Satan. He use Jehovah's name in each of these 3 verses as the NWT and as the UBS NT demonstrates. If I had a copy of the Hexapla (etc.) cited at http://www.equipministry.com/studies/yhwhinnt.htm, I would likely find sound corroboration on this point.

Jehovah explained by WT
by PSacramento incan anyone confirm what i read on another website that the aid to bible undertsanding, 1971 pages 884-885, admit that the term jehovah is a combination of yhwh and the words adonia and elohim and that scholars generally favour "yahweh" as the correct pronunciation?.
is this correct?.

Parakeet's assertions are NOT the only thing that matters. Medical malpractice is the cause of many deaths. Heterologous blood transfusions is one of the ways medical malpractice is still officially permitted, even often sanctioned, though insurance costs are now starting to reverse that trend.

Isaac, there is an apparent mutual co-existence these days. As I said before, I participate fully in the singing, which is my way to share in the interchange of encouragement, even though the elders here don't share my enthusiasm for the singing, even chatting with one another while it's going on or taking a break from worship in another way. We each lead by example, according to our understanding or lack there of. We each play according to the rules as we each understand them.

PSacramento asks:— Is the use, or non-use, of the name Jehovah basis for salvation, yes or no?
Going one way, my answer is more nuanced than that. The first way I think of, we might take John 17 as my starting point regarding this. John 17:6 refers to God's name, which we know in English as Jehovah (etc.). John 17:3 states that everlasting life is obtained by the on-going process of taking in knowledge of Jehovah, the true God, and of the one whome He sent forth, Jesus Christ. Then we can use Romans 10, which discusses the whole process of how that accurate knowedge comes and what type of person that makes such a disciple (learner). Matthew 24:14 and Matthew 28:18-20 and Acts 1:8 and Philippians 4, among many, many others add necessary details on the positive. And then, there are the warnings to balance out, such as contained in the Sermon on the Mount and the things that can cause one to be disinherited from the Kingdom.
Going a simpler way, we can use Jesus' words about loving Jehovah with heart, soul, mind, and strength as well as our neighbour (with all the possibilities that "neighbour" may imply) as ourselves. I would add Romans 12 to this mix.
Either way, I believe that Jehovah's name is and ought to be fundamentally important to every disciple of the Bible (both in spirit and in truth). Learning all about Jehovah's name (the spirit and the truth about it in all its manifestations) is but one of the facets to gaining salvation from sin and death. On-going discussions such as this one allow the various participants and onlookers allow for a deepening of our relationship with Jehovah and Jesus, which I suggest to be the crux of it all for each and everyone, whether on this board or not.

The Last (Lord's) Supper
by PSacramento ini wanted to ask this question beacuse at the last memorial supper it caught my attention more than it ever did:.
why do some (not just the jw's) believe that judas did not partkae of the lord's supper, the bread and the wine?.
in the synoptic gospels of matt, mark and luke, there is nomention of judas being sent away, indeed in luke jesus says "behold the hand of the betrayer at the table with me".. while in john judas is sent away, he is sent after the supper, though it is not clear if this was the lord's supper since there is no mention of the the partaking of the wine and bread in john.. help would be greatly appreciated.. .

Thanks for the levity, PSacramento, The box needs protected, does it? Using another tack, I'm not into boxing myself; I've already sustained too many head injuries as it is.

Ok have you ever been asked this question in regards to Isaiah 43:10 ?
by StoneWall inhow could god have always existed since it plainly says near the end of that verse before me there was no god formed?.
here is the quote from the nwt and i also looked it up on numerous other translations and they all used the word before.. .
isaiah 43:10. you are my witnesses, is the utterance of jehovah, even my servant whom i have chosen, in order that you may.

According to my understanding, the Bible teaches that we have Jehovah (Supreme, Almighty God, person, Source of truth), Jesus Christ (Vice-Supreme, Mighty God, person, Word of truth), and holy spirit (impersonal force, Spirit of truth).

I missed the God in your "secondary" question. The text of the original scriptures did not distinguish capital letters from other styles.
To be fullsome, let me try again, with this formulation:— I understand that the Bible teaches that there is one supreme God/god (Jehovah), one secondary God/god (Jesus), several classes of angelic Gods/gods (both good and evil), and several classes of human Gods/gods (both good and evil).
